<h3 style="text-align: center;"><strong>at the Paramount Mainstage</strong></h3>
<p><strong>The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), </strong>which presents the annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony set for Monday May 13, 2013 at the Paramount Mainstage, announces its 2012–2013 elected officers. <strong>Joyce Kulhawik</strong> (joyceschoices.com)will continue serving as President, with <strong>Iris Fanger</strong> (GateHouse Media, Christian Science Monitor) serving as Treasurer and <strong>Carolyn Clay </strong>(Boston Phoenix) serving as Secretary/Clerk.</p>
<p>The BTCA also elected <strong>Kilian Melloy</strong> as a new member to the selection committee.   Melloy reviews theater and film for EDGE Media Network (EDGE Boston, EDGE New England) and is a member of several critics&#8217; groups, including the Boston Online Film Critics Association. He has also reviews film, books, and other media for a number of publications and websites.</p>
<p>Continuing BTCA members include <strong>Don Aucoin </strong>(Boston Globe), <strong>Jared Bowen </strong>(WGBH), <strong>Terry Byrne </strong>(Boston Globe), <strong>Nick Dussault</strong> (Metro Boston) <strong>Sandy MacDonald</strong> (TheaterMania), <strong>Robert Nesti </strong>(EdgeMedia Networks), and <strong>Ed Siegel </strong>(WBUR<strong>)</strong>.</p>
<p>The Elliot Norton Awards are named for Mr. Norton who remained an active supporter of the dramatic arts until his death in 2003 at the age of 100. For 48 years Mr. Norton was a drama critic for Boston newspapers and concurrently from 1958 to 1982, he was moderator of Elliot Norton Reviews on WGBH television. The Elliot Norton Awards annually recognize outstanding achievement in the greater Boston theater community.</p>

<p>Highlights include: The History Boys, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, In the Next Room or thevibrator play, My Name is Asher Lev, The Light in the Piazza, Reckless, A Marvelous Party: The Noel Coward Celebration, Miss Witherspoon, The Women, Private Lives, Jacques Brel isAlive and Well…,The Scene, Happy Days, Lobby Hero, Hay Fever, Dear Miss Garland, MollySweeney, Dancing at Lughnasa, Dinner with Friends, and Betrayal.</p>
<p>His direction of the first U.S. revival of the opera Nixon in China was hailed as “musically deft and deeply touching”by The New York Times; and in 2006, he conceived and directed Five by Tenn, an original compilation of lost Tennessee Williams plays honored with four Elliot Norton Awards. Four of his productions have received Elliot Norton Awards as Outstanding Production or Musical, and he has received three Elliot Norton Awards for his direction. He is the recipient of the 2005 StageSource Theatre Hero Award for “vision, leadership, and inspiration” to Boston’s theatre artists and producers.</p>
<p>Mr. Edmiston was Artistic Associate at the Huntington Theatre Company,an Assistant Professor at Boston University, and has served as guest faculty for Trinity Rep/Brown University. He is currently Director of the Office of the Arts at Brandeis University.</p>
